I apologize to you all my friends!

I apologize for being late replying your comments. And also for not visiting your blogs in a while. I have just been too busy lately preparing for our trip to Indonesia. But even though if there is no trip to Indonesia, I am still a very busy mother. I hope you all understand and still like visiting my website. Thank you!

Selanjutnya saya bahas masalah keperawanan. Menurut kaca mata saya (walaupun saya tidak pakai kaca mata hehehe...):
-Arti perawan: belum pernah berhubungan sexual.

(Gayane sok keminter ah ;)).

Nah kembali kemasalah tampon. Kalau demikian halnya: so what??? Selama anda para gadis tidak pernah berhubungan sexual sebelum menikah maka everything is fine. Anda masih perawan kok. ;)

Good luck ladies!

Indonesia, we are coming!

Yup, this summer we are going to Indonesia. We are leaving on June 16 to July 14. Gus can't make it this time :( . He has to work. O well ...

Although traveling with kids is challenging, but I am ready. I am so excited and can't wait to see my family. I can't wait my family to see Benny and Thia have grown. The last time we went there was in 2006, when Benny was 4 and Thia was 6 months old. Also there will be a new cousin for Benny and Thia.

I can't wait to eat yummy Indonesian food all the time. I am excited that I might get to see my old friends. I am also thinking of "kopdar" with new friends from Semarang. Yes, my hometown is Semarang. Bakso Salatiga, Ayam Goreng Bang Mus, Soto Ayam Pak No and don't forget to stop by at Toko Mas Kranggan. Where else should I go?

Got a Baby Sitter!

Yay ... finally I got a baby sitter for my kids! She is a daughter of Thia's gym teacher. She is also my new hair stylist. She went to our house today to introduce her self to Gus and the kids. O I forgot to mention her name. Her name is Lisa. She is twenty years old and a very nice girl. She likes to work hard and has two jobs. She has been babysitting since she was 13.

Lisa will baby sit on Thursday night. Gus and I have to go to parents information meeting at a elementary school where Benny will go in September. Next time ... who knows ... having a date with Gus?

Hidup di Amerika 3

Hey ... long time no see eh ... ;)

- Aku berlangganan AAA road service.
Tinggal masukin alamatnya, beres deh. Cihuy ...
- Org2 sini suka bekerja sukarela (tanpa dibayar).

- TK umur 5-6 taun selama 1 taun.
Coba liat post-post lama ku: importan information.
- Tentang pergaulan anak-anak di Amrik: kalo udah masuk sekolah, jangan kaget kalo tiba-tiba anaknya ngomong jelek, soalnya ikut2an temennya. Kadang2 ada anak2 yg ortunya nggak bener, jadi mereka dicontoh anak2nya. Tapi nggak semua anak2 begitu.
That's life!
- Oke, deh Rahmati, good luck.

(Aku sampe ketagihan).
- Bayar tagihan tagihan bisa online dan gratis.
- Bisa bayar pake personal check juga.
- Anak anak pake car seat kalo di mobil. Jadi mengurangi injury.
- Dewasa pake seat belt juga.
- Nggak dibolehin racist. Semuanya sama kedudukannya.
- Di summer, ada nyamuk di luar rumah. Tapi walaupun gede gede, mereka nggak pinter.
- Orang orang Amrik nggak gampang tersinggung. Mereka suka bicara jujur apa adanya.

Any question? Good luck!

Thia is a girly girl

My daughter Thia wears dress everyday. She thought it will make her look like a princess. She also likes to wear shoes all the time. In a shoes store, she likes to try different kind of shoes. And when she find shoes that she likes, she will stick with it even though they are not her size. I will have a difficult time to put the shoes away from her ... sigh ...

I have a funny story about her and her shoes. One day, she wanted to see her dad who worked in our basement. She walked down the stairs but she tripped and felt down to the floor. She cried, poor girl! But, here is the funny thing: she cried not because she was in pain, but because one of her shoe felt off when she was falling down! She cried: "my shoe ... my shoe!" Isn't it hilarious?!

Anyway, she is a fun girl. She likes to draw pictures with crayons and eat the crayons afterward ... I know, she's crazy! She likes to dance and sing. I want to sign her up to a ballet class, but she has to be 3 years old to be in the class. She takes music class once a week. Hannah Montana is her favorite. Gym class once a week. Play group once a week. She is interested to learn a tricycle. But she is not interested to potty train yet. Everyday I try to take Thia to her potty, so she get used to it.

She also likes purses, make up things and Princess stuff. Yesterday, we went to my friend house to do play group. My friend's daughter has Ariel the little mermaid make up table. Thia loved it. She sat down its chair for a long time and she didn't want to share it with her friends (not nice!). And just exactly what I thought, she didn't move at all when I told her it's time we had to leave. I had to carry her. She cried and try to fight me. Oh no ... I imagine how difficult will be go traveling to Indonesia with her this summer without Gus (Gus will come later). Wish us luck, guys!

Feeling depressed? What do you do?

Okay guys, honestly, I am depressed. What do you usually do when you are depressed? Call your mom, tell your sisters/brothers, tell your best friend, want to be alone, see a psychiatrist, eat a lot of food, watch movies, listen to music, or else?

Anyway, I found this video and hopefully will cheer up our day!

Elvis Presley Jailhouse Rock 1957

The warden threw a party in the county jail.
The prison band was there and they began to wail.
The band was jumpin' and the joint began to swing.
You should've heard those knocked out jailbirds sing.
Let's rock Everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock.

Spider Murphy played the tenor saxophone,
Little Joe was blowin' on the slide trombone.
The drummer boy from Illinois went crash, boom, bang,
the whole rhythm section was the Purple Gang.
Let's rock Everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock.

Number forty-seven said to number three:
"You're the cutest jailbird I ever did see.
I sure would be delighted with your company,
come on and do the Jailhouse Rock with me."
Let's rock Everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock.

Run, run, run, run

The sad sack was a sittin' on a block of stone
way over in the corner weepin' all alone.
The warden said, "Hey, buddy, don't you be no square.
If you can't find a partner use a wooden chair."
Let's rock Everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock.

Shifty Henry said to Bugs, "For Heaven's sake,
no one's lookin', now's our chance to make a break."
Bugsy turned to Shifty and he said, "Nix nix,
I wanna stick around a while and get my kicks."
Let's rock Everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock.

The Other Boleyn Girl Movie

I am sooo excited that "my book" The Other Boleyn Girl was filmed and it will be in theaters February 29. It was my first novel and had 661 pages. I more excited when I found out that Nathalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, and Eric Bana will be the stars ... yay!!!

For the first time, I will watch a movie without asking Gus questions during the movie. Because I already read the book so I know the story. Woo hoo ... Maybe Gus will ask me questions this time ... ha ha ... And I am going to say: "Please be quite, I am watching the movie!" ;)

Since this is my kind of movie (Tudor English, kingdoms with a lot of dramas and stuff), I will try to get a baby sitter, so I can have a date with Gus to see the movie. Hmm ... I still have to figure it out who it is. Help: baby sitter needed! Anyone? Anyone? Please :)

Thanks to Katy Heintz ( our cousin Benny Heintz's wife) who recommended the book. It was a great book. I loved it! Katy also suggested a book: The Memoirs of Cleopatra by Margaret George. It should be good too. I will talk about it next time when I finish reading it. Maybe the end of summer. Whaaat??? Hahaaha ... What can I say? I am a slow reader especially if the book is written in English because my English is still far from good and by the way, it has 957 pages for God Sakes! Hahahaa ...

Hmm ... I wonder that they will make a movie based on this book, because it's been a long time there's no new movie about Cleopatra. Who do you think actress should become Cleopatra? She should have an exotic face like Alicia Keys, don't you think?! So who?

David Archuleta

After watching AI Boys, I got to say this: David Archuleta is the winner!

He was born to sing. His voice is very strong, unbeatable. I cried when I was listening he sang Imagine by John Lennon. It was beautiful and perfect! I don't even wait to say "David Archuleta is the winner" before I watch the girl's performances tomorrow night. Ouch ... sorry girls!

I know it's too early to say who's the winner but, here are the things: David Archuleta got a lot of going on: he's very young, 17 years old, cute, trendy, very polite, got a killer smile, confident, got a very strong voice, winning a lot of singing competitions and got a lot of teenagers fan.

And I think no matter what song he choose, he will nail it, no doubt! Just like Randy, Paula and Simon said: you are hot, on fire, you are superstar and you make the other 19 contestants miserable.

By the way, Gus is the winner in our Oscar Pool, if you would like to know. He wins two times in a row. Whaaat??? I can't believe it either. We both never watched any nominated movies except The Bourne Ultimatum and Transformers. So, all we had to do was searching on the internet. And Gus did it in the last minutes before he sent it to Colleen. Gus, what website did you use by the way? ;)

Oscar 2008

I can't wait to watch it tonight! Thanks to Colleen Madden, my sister in-law, who organized the Oscar Pool for us. It was so much fun to pick which movie that will win tonight. I even enter twice! Although I regret I put Juno for best picture in one of my Oscar pool, what were I thinking? Anyway, every one has to send $10 for each entry. So, all together we have $ 80. Woo hoo ...

I can't wait to see what are the stars going to wear tonight either! I am going to join with the "fashion police" giving critiques and complements about the stars look. What a fun job to have, don't you think?!

I let you know the result of our Oscar Pool tomorrow. Wish me luck, guys!

American Idol Season 7

It's American Idol season ya'all :).

Here are my top picks:
Boys:
1. Michael Johns. He's got the whole packet (star look, confident, and off course ... sexy!).
2. David Archuleta. He is so cute. He's only 17! He has a strong voice, confident and big smiles. I bet a lot of teenage girls crazy about him, cuz I do :)
3. Robbie Carrico. Once again rock 'n roll babay! Way to go, Robbie!

Girls:
1. Asia'h Epperson. Love your voice and look, girl!
2. Ramiele Malubay. Strong voice and cute. I like her hair too.
3. Syesha Mercado. Strong voice and confident.

Now, who are your favorites?

My new ring tone and ring back

I was bored with my ring tone: "Glamorous" by Fergie, and my ring back: "Wine Up" by Kat De Luna. So, I searched for fun songs that can make people want to dance when they hear it. Benny asked me if I can use his favorite song "S.O.S" from Jonah Brothers for my ring tone. But then I remember that Thia has hers too, " See You Again" from Miley Cyrus.

I was confused deciding which song that I want to use. S.O.S, See You Again, or songs from Cascade. I like Cascade because all of her songs are techno music. It makes me dance every time I hear it. And it's perfect for aerobic work out.

Thanks God, Gus helped me by picked another song that I like: hip hop ;). I know, sometimes the lyrics full of violences and drugs. I off course disagree with that. The thing is, it's hard to understand what they say because they talk so fast (can you?). So, usually I just enjoy the music because most of them are fun to listen and dance. I looove to dance, remember?! ;)

Gus picked: "Low" by Flo Rida. I like it. And actually my family like it too. Perfect! When I play this song, everyone dance (it works every time ;)) Check it out and tell me what you think!

Bad Day

(Thia, 2-3 weeks old)

In the morning of Valentine's Day, when I just about to take Benny to school, I found out that I left my garage door open all night long. I felt so guilty and was scared too, because people could get into my house and did something bad. Thanks God, nothing happened except some animal ate garbage in my garage.

At noon after I took Thia to Local Motion (gym class), we went to a grocery store near by. When I was going to pay the groceries, I couldn't find my wallet. I must left it at home. I saw my check book, and I asked the cashier if I can use it. She said yes. O Thanks God. But then she said that she need my ID. I asked her why. She said she need to verify my identity because it was the first time I use the check in their store. O migosh ... how can I give her my ID if it's in my wallet? I was getting frustrated. She asked me again, "Do you want to get your wallet and come back again to get your groceries?" I could just say NO, I don't want my groceries. But then I remember I already took some unpaid cookies for Thia. So, I had to say YES! Arrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh .........................

Sugar Pie Honey Bunch

I am crazy about retro motown music now. Gus picked "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)" by Four Tops for me for our valentine's day. I love it. It makes me want to sing and dance all the time.

I found this track on youtube and I am still trying to figure out the second song. Does anyone know what it is?

Oooooooooooooooh!
Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch
You know that I love you
I can't help myself
I love you and nobody else

In and out my life(in and out my life)
You come and you go(you come and you go)
Leaving just your picture behind....(ooh)
And I've kissed it a thousand times(ooh)
When you snap your finger, or wink you eye,
I come a-running to you
I'm tied to your apron strings,
And there's nothing that I can do

I can't help myself,
No, I can't help myself,

'Cause, Sugar Pie Honey Bunch
I'm weaker than a man should be
I can't help myself
I'm a fool in love 'ya see

Wanna tell you I don't love you,
Tell you that we're through
And I try....
But ev'ry time I see your face,
I get all choked up inside
When I call your name,
Girl, it starts to flame
Burning in my heart,
Tearing it all apart..
No matter how I try
My love I cannot hide....

'Cause Sugar Pie Honey Bunch
You know that I'm waiting for you(waiting for you)
I can't help myself
I love you and nobody else

Sugar Pie Honey Bunch
I'd do anything you ask me to(ask me to)
I can't help myself
I want you and nobody else

Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch
You know that I love you(I dooo)
I can't help myself...
No... I can't help myself

My Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day guys! (is not too late, is it?! ;))

When you squeeze the little hedgehog red heart, it makes sound
smooch ... smooch ... smooch ...

Tulips, one of my favorite flowers

How do you like Benny's over size pink lips?

Gus and I had romantic dinner at ... home with the kids ... haaahaaa. Well, if you don't have a baby sitter, your romantic nights out with your husband are pretty much over. It was hard, but we are okay with that now. And actually celebrating Valentine's day with Benny and Thia was the best. They were so happy got balloons, chocolate, lips candies, and red & pink little hedgehogs. Benny and Thia made cards for Gus and I. Thank you Benny and Thia! Daddy and Ibu love you so much!

Freezing rain

Look at the ice on the branches, beautiful isn't it?! Today, once again, school is closed. This time not because of snow storm but because of freezing rain. The temperature is not too cold. It's about 30 degree F (3 degree C). The kids were having a blast playing outside. Thia was having hard time walking in the deep snow. Benny was jumping around like crazy on the snow.

I don't like being trapped in the house for many times. Like two days ago, the temperature dropped to 12 degree F (-10 degree C) plus windy. Soooo ... coooold!!! I have been complaining too much about the weather here or even in Indonesia. When I was in Indonesia, I complained a lot about how hot the weather was. I complain just about everything actually. Not good!

Anyway, usually during the freezing rain, the road will be slippery. I am hoping the temperature tonight will be warmer, so the ice will melt and be gone. Otherwise, my driveway will be icy and wicked slippery.

Once, two years ago, I didn't have enough experience driving on the icy driveway. FYI, my driveway is a little bit steep. I was going down the driveway and I couldn't stop my car. I was scared to death! Fortunately, there was no car passing by and I didn't drive into the woods in front of our house :( .

Lately ...

It's been snowing a lot lately.
Gus used to snow blow our driveway, but he doesn't have time to do it now. So we have to call a plow guy. Anyway, a lot of snow it means a lot of money to pay the plow guy. He is getting rich this season ... ;)

Super Bowl ...
Who can forget how the New England Patriots lost to the New York Giants? Gus was very sad for two days after the game. I wish that his favorite team had won the game, and gone undefeated. But, I was surprised when he said that Gisele Bundchen, Tom Brady's supermodel girl friend is EVIL! Gisele must have been distracting Tom. Wow ... usually I am the one who say this bitchy stuff. Well, I guess men can be bitchy sometimes when it comes to football. :)

(Correction from Gus: Of all the women in the Victoria's Secret catalog he picks Gisele? Leonardo DiCaprio's castaway? C'mon Tom!)

My kids love watching TV.
I don't blame them. In fact, I sent the kids to watch TV when I wanted to do something (bad ... very bad mother!). But since they were watching too much TV, they became monsters. They yelled at me, never listened, didn't want to play, etc. So Gus and I decided to unplug TV during the week. On the weekend they can watch TV only after they play out side, read and do their chores.

It works! Thia is back to being a sweet little girl, she plays a lot and is happier. Benny plays a lot and pays attention more.

Valentine's day is coming.
Gus has been asking me what I want for it. I told him what I want. I think that was the best way to solve the problem. Gus is happy finding out what to get for me and I am happy as well to get what I want. I know this is breaking "the rules". Girls usually want guys to know what they want. It's called "being sensitive." But in my relationship experiences with my husband, I just give up with this "sensitive" thing. Trust me, it's not worth it to fight about it with them. And actually, I do the same thing with my birthday or his birthday. You can make a list of things you want and tell your husband where you put the list. And ask your husband where he puts his list. If one of us didn't get exactly the present what we want, we just return or exchange it. We never feel bad or up sad about it. It's that simple, period! ;)

Be careful eating fish when you are pregnant.

When I was pregnant with Thia, my doctor gave me this important information about mercury in fish and shellfish. I'd like to share it with you and hopefully it useful.

According to FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency):

Fish and shellfish are an important part of a healthy diet. Fish and shellfish contain high-quality protein and other essential nutrients, are low in saturated fat, and contain omega-3 fatty acids. However, nearly all fish and shellfish contain traces of mercury. Some fish and shellfish contain higher levels of mercury that may harm an unborn baby or young child developing nervous system.

Target:
- woman who might become pregnant
- woman who are pregnant
- nursing mothers
- young children

1. do not eat shark, swordfish, king mackerel, tilefish.
2. do not eat more than 12 oz of total fish each week.
3. do not eat more than 6 oz of albacore white tuna per week.
4. eat fish and shellfish that are lower in mercury: shrimp, canned light tuna, salmon, pollock and catfish.

Here are the complete list of fish and shellfish and mercury contamination in them:

* Fish in Trouble! These fish are perilously low in numbers or are caught using environmentally destructive methods. To learn more, see the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the Blue Ocean Institute, both of which provide guides to fish to enjoy or avoid on the basis of environmental factors.

** Farmed Salmon may contain PCB's, chemicals with serious long-term health effects.

Sources for NRDC's guide: The data for this guide to mercury in fish comes from two federal agencies: the Food and Drug Administration, which tests fish for mercury, and the Environmental Protection Agency, which determines mercury levels that it considers safe for women of childbearing age.

About the mercury-level categories: The categories on the list (least mercury to highest mercury) are determined according to the following mercury levels in the flesh of tested fish.

  • Least mercury: Less than 0.09 parts per million
  • Moderate mercury: From 0.09 to 0.29 parts per million
  • High mercury: From 0.3 to 0.49 parts per million
  • Highest mercury: More than .5 parts per million

According to NRDC:

Over the years, many companies have used mercury to manufacture a range of products including thermometers, thermostats and automotive light switches. Although the metallic mercury in these products rarely poses a direct health hazard, industrial mercury pollution becomes a serious threat when it is released into the air by power plants, certain chemical manufacturers and other industrial facilities, and then settles into oceans and waterways, where it builds up in fish that we eat. Children and woman of childbearing age are most at the risk.

Exposure to mercury can be particularly hazardous for pregnant women and small children. During the first several years of life, a child's brain is still developing and rapidly absorbing nutrients. Prenatal and infant mercury exposure can cause mental retardation, cerebral palsy, deafness and blindness. Even in low doses, mercury may affect a child's development, delaying walking and talking, shortening attention span and causing learning disabilities.

In adults, mercury poisoning can adversely affect fertility and blood pressure regulation and can cause memory loss, tremors, vision loss and numbness of the fingers and toes. A growing body of evidence suggests that exposure to mercury may also lead to heart disease.

Thia, Benny and I have colds

A week ago, Thia got a stomach bug or stomach flu and vomited all night long. The disease is gone and now she has cold. Usually she coughs so hard and it will make her vomit. She couldn't sleep well because of that. It means I couldn't sleep well either, helping her out. Poor girl. And poor Mama .... ;)

Two days ago, Benny got the same bug as Thia: stomach bug or stomach flu. He is feeling better now, but he has a little cold.

I have a cold. Fortunately, mine is not too bad. Even though I am dizzy and my nose is stuffed up, I still can do the housework.

Everyone but Gus, is sick. Usually I am the one who almost never gets sick. Alhamdulillah! Here, mothers are not allowed or are not supposed to get sick, otherwise the world will stop spinning. ;)

Funny story of the day

I was in the kitchen doing some stuff. Benny and Thia were in the living room watching TV. Suddenly Benny ran into the kitchen and said to me: " Can I see your face, Ibu?" I was wondering why he was doing that. Finally Benny said: "Ibu, you need a Pro Active!"

Haaaa....haaaa.... I couldn't stop laughing. Pro Active is one of the most popular acne product in America. He must be got it from the TV commercial. Benny .... thanks for telling me the truth! (snif ... )

Global Warming

Another homework from a dear friend. This one came from Jeng Sili and it's about global warming. Okay, here we go:

How do we stop global warming:
1. Take the bus or car pool.
I have to take my car everywhere. I don't have a choice. I live in the middle of nowhere and there is no bus. Car pooling might be a good idea, but of course it happens only once in a while.

2. Use my hair dryer less
I think I can do that. I will wash my hair in the evening and let it dry by it self. The next morning I'll just use a straightening iron to straighten my hair. I still need my hair dryer sometimes. But I can't live without my straightening iron. I can't help it. Otherwise my hair is going to be huge like cotton candy!

3. Use less hairspray and deodorant
I can use my hairspray only when I need it, such as going to parties (almost never). But deodorant? Come on ... who doesn't need it? Omigosh, now I remember there are people that I know who never wear deodorant. This people should get an award for saving the earth from global warming, but should also get tickets from the fashion police because they make other people faint. Haaaaa...hahahaaaa....

4. Planting trees
Gardening or planting trees is not my thing. I don't know what is wrong with me but every time I try to plant something it'll die quickly. Caterpillar and worms gross me out. Gus can help to plant tress. He planted a peach tree in our back yard two years ago, and it is still alive! Hooray!

5. Use less air conditioning and play fewer video games
We don't have these things. So, we're safe ;)

6. Use the computer less
Our computers run 24 hours a day. It's impossible to use it less because Gus's business is using computers all the time.

7. Use the microwave, dish washer, washer and dryer less
Okay, from now on we are going to eat cold food, use only paper plates, wear the same clothes for one week. Just kidding!!!

8. Less trash and do recycling
I think we good with recycling, so far. Less trash? I don't know about that because we still have a toddler who wearing diapers everyday!

9. Use paper bags
I forgot to ask the bag person to put my groceries into paper bags. The grocery store should use only paper bags from now on, but then ... oh no ... are they going to increase the prices to cover the paper bag costs?

10. Use lights less or get energy-saving lights
We have started to use energy-saving lights every time we change a broken lightbulb. I also taught Benny to turn off the lights every time he leaves a room. The result: Benny is lazy to turn on the lights every time he goes into some rooms especially the bathrooms. I can't stand he does that because he never knows his urine goes straight into toilet. Actually his father does the same thing too. It drives me nuts! Like father like son ... (Grrr!@#$%^&*)

That's it! Hmm ... Elyani and Icha now it's your turn to do the homework, girls!

Peanut Allergy

In December last year, Thia was diagnosed with Peanut Allergy. Peanut allergy is common in the states, but not in Indonesia. I didn't know anything about it and I thought peanut-free sign at almost every day-care or school was strange. But then I found out that peanut allergy can be dangerous. It can be deadly!!!

Allergic Emergency Care Plan:
Mild reaction:
-Mouth itching and swelling of the lips, tongue, mouth
-Skin itching, rash, hives, swelling
-Gut nausea, cramps, diarrhea, vomiting
Treatment:
Benadryl 1.5 tsp by mouth

Severe reaction:
-Throat: itching, tightness, hoarseness, hacking cough
-Lungs: shortness of breath, repetitive cough, wheeze, tightness
-Heart: "thready" pulse, faintness, passing out, low blood pressure
Treatment:
- inject EpiPen immediately and call 911 or go to emergency room immediately

Extra careful:
Thia had mild reaction, but her doctor said that was possible for her to have a severe one. Now I have to be very careful with the food she eats. I have to check food labels at the grocery store every time I want to introduce new food to Thia. In a party I have to ask the host which food contains peanuts. If you are not sure about some food, you better avoid it.

The chance:
The doctor said that people with peanut allergies have a 15% chance to be outgrow the allergy. This is a good news for Thia even though the possibility is small. I hope and pray someday Thia will be free from her peanut allergy.

Be ready:
I have Benadryl, an Epipen, a cell phone and allergic emergency care planl( see above) in my pocket book. I carry those around everywhere Thia and I go. The most important thing is when you are helping people with severe reaction, do it as fast as you can: inject epipen firmly into outer thigh immediately and call 911 or go to emergency room immediately.

Take seriously:
Now I take all allergies seriously. Gus is allergic to bee stings. The reaction was pretty bad. So I suggested that he get it checked out, he might need an epipen too.

- The Peanut Allergy Answer Book: 2nd Edition by Michael C. Young, M.D.
Thia's doctor recommended me to read this book. It's a great book. It has all the answers you need to know about peanut allergies.
